Heute Is an Agenda, Not a Timetable

The Heute homepage is an iPhone and a pink sentence. "Your whole day. At a glance." The mockup has a morning routine at 07:30, a calendar block with Alex, a proposal at 11:30. Read only that and you bought a prettier calendar.

A time is not a block

A listing will say calm, local, Berlin. It will not tell you the difference between a clock and a rectangle. Structured is a time-block planner: every task gets a start and a length. If you live by that, stay there. Heute will not ask you how long the proposal takes. A calendar event can still occupy 10:30–11:00, because that is an appointment. A task can sit at 11:30 without a duration. The day is a list with clocks, not a wall you have to fill.

Tiimo, in the same FAQ, actively guides you through the day — blocks, countdowns, AI. It also wants an account, and calendar integration sits behind Pro. Things 3 and Todoist are named and then set aside: task managers, not a daily planner. Heute does less on purpose. No projects. No labels. No boards. The App Store copy is colder still: every extra feature is another decision, so they leave it out.

Calendar is not the upsell

Where Structured and Tiimo put calendar, recurring tasks, and routines behind a subscription, Heute includes them from day one. The free column is the product. Heute+ is themes, external iCal feeds, and extended routines — plus, since 1.7.0, the larger widgets and a lock-screen widget.

On the German App Store today that optional layer is €2.99 a month, €19.99 a year, or €34.99 once. A July write-up still lists €1.99 and a €29.99 lifetime. Apple's receipt is the one that bills. Version 1.7.0 shipped 29 July 2026 with a small home-screen widget on the free side and a jump-back-to-today control. Core tasks, routines, calendar, and notifications stay free. That is not a launch discount. It is the FAQ answer to "Is Heute+ a subscription trap?"

Griebenowstraße, a database with no server

Christofer Haus. Griebenowstraße 12, 10435 Berlin. The privacy policy names him as controller. The Impressum is colder than the studio page: the app is operated as an individual without commercial registration. Feldstein Studio is the name in the footer. A July review on appgefahren called him a Diplom-Psychologe and UX specialist. The marketing says the product is co-shaped by psychologists and systemic coaches. The legal notice still lists one name.

It stays on your device. Locally, in a SQLite database. There's no server, no account, no connection to the outside world.

The April 2026 privacy policy is the architecture in legal German. Calendar access is read-only — the app does not create, change, or delete events. Notifications are scheduled on the phone. A backup is a JSON file you keep; AirDrop or iCloud Drive only if you tap it. Apple's nutrition label on the listing is No Data Collected. Website logs go to netcup in Karlsruhe and are deleted within 30 days. iCal feeds, if you add one under Heute+, are fetched from the device. That is the one outbound pull, and you pointed it there.

Who should not buy it

EuroMakers files Heute under Productivity because that is the job on a calm Tuesday. The FAQ is the buyer's guide they already wrote. Skip it if you need a different job.

• You want every task to own a duration. That is Structured. Heute will not make you estimate.
• You are on Android. There is no build.
• You want the same plan on two devices without moving a file. There is no account to sync.
• You want the app to write back into Calendar. It only reads.
• You want projects, labels, subtasks, or boards. They left those out so you would not maintain a system.
• You need a team hallway. This is one person's day on one phone.
