About
Cryptomator is an open-source zero-knowledge vault from Skymatic GmbH in Bonn (Am Hauptbahnhof 6, 53111 Bonn; AG Bonn HRB 22635; VAT DE815664888; managing directors Tobias Hagemann and Sebastian Stenzel). You encrypt files on the client, drop the vault onto Dropbox, Drive, or OneDrive, and keep the storage you already have — the host never sees plaintext. It replaces Boxcryptor.
Desktop 1.19.3 shipped on 29 June 2026. Version 1.18.0 (12 November 2025) added vault-config recovery and macOS 26 Tahoe fixes. Cryptomator Hub is a paid team product from the same Bonn GmbH.
