Raycast Pro Is Five Hundred Credits

The Raycast launcher did not get cheaper. The $10 Pro card is still $10. The model is now 500 credits, and a long agent run spends them.

Raycast Technologies Ltd in the United Kingdom ships the keyboard-first launcher for Mac, Windows, and iOS. The rest is the meter.

Free is the launcher. Pro is five hundred

On 14 September the shop sat on Monthly. Free is $0. The line under the name is the product: essential productivity tools, without AI. Clipboard History, Quicklinks, Calculator, Snippets, Emoji Picker, Window Management. Five notes. The comparison grid caps clipboard history at three months.

Pro is $10 a month, or $96 if you take the year. Yearly prints as $8 a month with $120 struck through. The trial button is on Pro. Plus and Max say Choose.

Switch the Pro card to Plus. The shop relabels it Raycast Pro+. Yearly is $16 a month, $192 billed. The tick becomes 3,000 credits. Max is Raycast Pro Max on the same card: $40 a month on the year, $480 billed, 7,500 credits. Monthly Max is $50. That is the number Mann put in the post.

The FAQ is blunt about the cheap card. Is it possible to get the Pro plan without AI? No. You can switch AI off in Settings. You cannot buy a Pro that never included it.

The subscription is the shell

Mann splits the bill in one sentence. The subscription pays for the chat, the extensions, Cloud Sync, Dictation. Running the model is a separate cost. You cover it with the monthly pile, a top-up, or a model you brought.

Credits are not messages. Long chats, attachments, tool calls, regenerations. The picker shows Cost next to Speed and Intelligence. Input and output are priced differently, so the same prompt is not the same spend.

Monthly leftovers roll once. Each grant expires 60 days after it arrives. Trial credits die in seven days. Top-ups come in 500, 2,500, 5,000, and 10,000; the manual says they expire 12 months after purchase, and you need an active paid plan to spend them. Cancel and the pile stays until those dates. Free cannot use it.

A paid Raycast plan is required to bring your own AI into Raycast.

Claude and ChatGPT accounts, an API key, a custom provider, a local Ollama model: all of that is on a paid plan in v2. The inference then bills the other side. Raycast still wants the seat.

Windows already left the free Pro

The Windows changelog stamps v2.0 on 25 August 2026. Out of beta. Version bumped to 2.0.0.0 to match Mac.

During the beta, all of our Pro features were available for free while we tested and improved the experience. With this release, those features are now part of Raycast Pro, including Dictation and AI Chat.

The handover is a seven-day Pro trial. No card. The trial includes 500 credits and the Pro models. Pro+ and Max models stay off it. Top-ups stay off it. One trial per account. Cancel before day seven or the $10 starts.

The Mac download on the homepage still says macOS Tahoe and Apple Silicon required. Download V1 is the other link. One subscription covers Mac, Windows, and iOS once you are on a paid plan.

v1 keeps going until October

If you never left Raycast v1, credits already apply. They do not bite yet.

Until 1 October, a v1 Pro or Pro+ account can sit at 0 credits and keep talking, under the old request caps. From that morning, empty means stop. The message is: you've used all your AI credits. Update Raycast to continue, or wait until 15 October, when the next monthly pile lands. New top-tier models added from 10 September are v2 only.

Teams do not share the pile

Teams Pro is $15 a user a month, $144 on the year. Same 500 credits, per seat, not pooled. Teams Pro+ is $25. Teams Max is $65. Top-ups are per member too.

Teams Free is not a trial. It does not expire. It is 30 shared snippets, 30 shared Quicklinks, and 5 shared commands. No AI. Student discount is 50 percent, and only on Pro, not on Plus.

Who should not start here

Anyone who read $10 as unlimited inference. Anyone still on v1 who thinks a zero balance is decorative after 1 October. Anyone on Intel Mac hardware who wanted v2. Anyone on Windows who treated Dictation as a Free leftover from the beta. Anyone who wanted a Claude key on Free. Anyone who wanted Opus on the seven-day trial. Anyone who wanted Pro with the AI stripped out at checkout.

If the job is a UK launcher whose Pro card is 500 credits, start with the listing, then the 10 September post, then Usage Limits. Open Monthly. Read 500. If you are still on v1, read the October line before you spend the pile to zero.
